Police Administration And Organization Play - 1414 Words

Police Administration and organization play a key role in the police department. By administering the proper organizational methods a department can provide a great quality of service to its community. A police officer’s duty is to maintain public order, preventing, and detecting crime so that citizens can feel safe when they venture outdoors. A good example of these actions being performed as a whole is the 106th precinct. This is a precinct that has improved its progress dramatically with gratitude to the COMPSTAT system. This department is located at 103-53 101st Street, Ozone Park, 11417-1707. Deputy Inspector Jeffrey D. Schiff is Commanding Officer of this precinct. 106th precinct covers: Ozone Park, South Ozone Park, Lindenwood ad Howard Beach. This department has become well renowned for lowering its crime rate at a incredible rate during the last 4 week period. With 32.3% drop in serious crimes from Sept 29th - Oct 26th. Also nearly 1/3 decrease in crime rate through b etter interaction with the community. Overall major crime fell from 164 to 111 during the duration of this period. (compared to 2013), auto thefts from 29 in 2013 to 15 in 2014, Robberies from 34 to 24, burglaries from 23 to 15, felony assaults from 21 to 16 and finally grand larceny went from 55 to 38.
